Nellie Flynn (1869-1935) lived with her family in Skagway. Her husband is featured in another post. Her grand-daughter has requested that anyone who might have a better photograph of the above image please contact her: Kim Metcalfe at kimmetcalfe@gmail.com
I’m looking for a photograph of my late grandmother, Helen Grace “Nellie” Flynn. My sister Kathleen Metcalfe has contacted you before. She posted a photo of our grandmother when she was Skagway Queen of the 4th of July on the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park Facebook page.
The photo I’m looking for is a portrait of our grandmother that hung on the living room wall of our Juneau home for many years. During a remodel the photo was lost. I’m including a photo that shows the portrait on the wall. If you or any of your followers might have information on portrait photographers in Skagway whose collections this might be in, I’d appreciate hearing from you/them.
I’ve scoured several prominent photographers’ collections but haven’t found anything like this. I believe the portrait would have been taken between 1910 and 1915 or thereabouts.
